a summer breeze rolls by my face
and drifts along this winter place
its objective clear as it starts to share
its human motive for being there
bringing warmth from the southwest
stopping next to me for rest
it speaks about the wild ride
it took along the countryside
i could not help but admire
the gift in the form of desire
it left upon my frozen face
as it drifted along this winter place
and then when it had flown away
it seemed winter was here to stay
and all that was left was to remember
the summer i found in December
i spent some time in the cold, alone
remembering what that breeze had shown
until i found the breeze i missed
and gave it a place in my heart to exist
so if you want to see me these days
you’ll find me in my car, with the breeze i forgave
showing her love, comfort, and a touch of suspense
doing everything in my power to keep her out of the past tense.
